Refunds & 14-day cooling-off

Version 1.0 · Effective 18 June 2026

This page explains when you can get your money back and how to ask for it. It sits alongside the cancellation terms in our Terms of Service.

1. The 14-day cooling-off period

Within 14 days of your first paid charge you can request a full refund — no reason needed. This cooling-off refund is available once per organization. If you've already used it, or more than 14 days have passed since your first paid charge, see the discretionary refunds section below.

2. Starting your subscription immediately

When you subscribe, you ask us to begin the service right away so you can use paid features at once. Under EU and UK consumer law (EU Consumer Rights Directive; UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, §§36–37), starting a digital service immediately — with your express consent and your acknowledgment that you do so — can bring the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal to an end. PostTide nonetheless honors a 14-day refund as a matter of policy, as described above. We capture this consent and acknowledgment at checkout.

3. How to request a refund

Email support@posttide.com from the address on your account and tell us you'd like a refund. There is deliberately no self-serve refund button in the app — a person handles your request so we can confirm eligibility and answer any questions. We aim to respond within two business days and, once approved, refunds are returned to your original payment method by Stripe (typically 5–10 business days).

4. What happens when a refund is issued

An approved cooling-off refund cancels your paid subscription and returns your most recent payment. Your account moves to a locked state and your data is retained for 12 months, during which you can reactivate at any time; after that window it is permanently deleted. You can keep using the Free plan in the meantime.

5. Refunds after 14 days

After the cooling-off period we issue refunds only where required by law or at our discretion — for example, for a genuine service-quality problem on our side. Cancelling at any time stops future renewals; cancellation by itself is not a refund of the current period unless one of these conditions applies.
